Under The Sea

Berlin is  also called "Capital of the bicycle thieves" some of the stolen bikes were thrown into the rivers and canals. Once a year the ground under the bridges where cleaned of them. Today the diver was in the river Spree in the city.

The bikes are full of seashells, even the big locks are still there.

 Please lock your bike at the still standig  railing or fens, were it can´t get moved.

Let The Children Play

As every Tuesday I went to the school kids today. I got the bad message that we can´t use the computer room the hole time. After half of the time we left the room to go outside. The weather was nice but the kids had no drive to work around photos. They were fixed on the playground.

Working At The Zoo

I was working at the zoo-east today, but not as a photographer as usual. I sold souvenirs today, there was a personal lack. I sold books, keyrings and the zoo-paper was for free. Today was a family day with lots of attractions, every hand was needed. On two stages played bands. There were more visiter than usually at a day off.
At the end of my shift I was proud to drive the big van of the zoo. It was my first drive with such a car, but it was only inside the the zoo-east and very slow.

Interested People

When I came back from the garden, I made a little detour to see the progress at the Karlshorst bridge. This week the street under bridge is closed again, for the construction work.. That means lots of problems for the traffic but the people are very interested about the work. There are big mashines and lots of technic. Everyone becomes an expert of it and everybody knows it better than the others.

The Prof. made a 3 houres-walk with me around the cemetery today. 

Very fast, usually you need more time. The next walk I going to do alone with my camera.

The next two days I going to go to the garden. On monday I going to help at the zoo for a festival.

A Cemetery Again

A woman, I do know a little died a few days ago, the funeral was today at the cemetery in Karlshorst.
She worked 33 years at the radio and so she had a big circle of friends and much of them came totday. About 80 people.
After the official act I a made a short walk around the cemetery.

Tomorrow I´m going to see the next cemetery, I´ll have an appointment with a Prof. of History, we do make a documentation about the cemetary of Friedrichsfelde and I deliver the photos.

Still 30 °C, althoug the weather forecast spoke about 24 °C.
Two years ago I made a video about the summer in Berlin. This day in June we have had 38 °C (100°F).

Hot Day In Biesdorf

It was a hot day today, about 30°C (86°F). I went with the shoolkids into the parc of Biesdorf, 2 stations away by the underground. It was planed since 3 weeks, I could not influence the weather. The kids were unmotivated, some of them have had a bad mood, see Peet, I never saw him in a so bad mood.

Two of the kids run away on the way to the underground, they will get a trouble about it and I wont to get the money (1 €) for the park guidance nontheless.

Secret Ways

Outside of Berlin you can find a lot of secrets.  While my drive around yesterday, I met a man, who came out of the usualy closen bunker. He crawl through a small howl in the door made of steel. Inside it is abloslutly darkness, no windows. I showed through hole with its torch and hace had enough. I desidet to let it be. There is nothing inside, some idiots made a fire, there is nothing to see anymore.
I took other ways to take some pictueres.

Mens Day

Today is in Germany mens day. That means, the men celebrate them self only for being a man. They do that with a lot of alcohol and barbeque outside. Trational the parties are harder, as far you a come outside the cities. They must´n drive cars of course, so they use old bikes. You can see untrained men on rusty bikes they use only once a year. The bikes are decorated with lilac branches.
