Today was an appointment at the Tierpark (Zoo of East-Berlin). I had to photograph the dhole puppies but they did´nt want to. The dhole parents are comming from the zoo of Novosibirsk. It´s they 2. birth.
After that I rode around and enjoyed being at the Tierpark by bike.

Impressions Of April

A weekend the weather do´nt know, what it could do, sun, rain, storm? It tried everything in the most possible short time.

I used the sunny minutes to show you a few flowers.

Biesdorf Castle

Berlin is grown all the times, this year it will be 775 years-ceremony. The city got lager by taking over the towns arround. 1920 was a very big taking over arround the citiy. They told the towns, they will get money from the rich city of Berlin. But in fact Berlin is not rich. One of the towns, that 1920 became a part of Berlin, is called Biesdorf. It still has no character as being a world city.  An old heritage is the castle and its park. The castle were damaged at the world war 2. It has been repaired and next year it even should get back the lost 2th floor.
 The nice tower has unfortunatly no stairs, there is no way to come up. The 2th floor will bring the old stairway back.
I plan to visit it with my schoolkids in a few weeks, to see it the last time, befor it get´s scafoldet for the next 2 or 3 years. Today I was there to speak the people and make an appointment for the kids.

Island In The Sun

The Islands name is "Abtei" but it is called "Isle Of Youth". This Island is in the Spree river in the east of Berlin. A very nice bridge brings you to the island, it is build in 1916.
You can see the whole island on this postcard from 1921.

The railing is decorated by locks of lovers, the keys where thrown into the water. In Berlin the officials do´nt like this locks, they say it could become to heavy for the bridges. From time to time they com with pliers and remove the locks. But the love will be stronger, Berlin has more bridges than Venice.

The tower of this church is realy awry, the reason was a bomb hit in the world war 2.

Strange signs, ribbons made of wool, I do´nt know wat´s it for.

On the Island is a very nice coffee garden, you can get there a meel for only 3,50 € (noddles with sauce) (140 руб, 4,66 $) and a cub of coffee for 1,50 € (2 $, 60 руб). You can enjoy it sitting on a garden chair of your choice and see the boots.

 "Bridge Of Hearts" on the floor of the Bridge are blue hearts.

In Kreuzberg was the begin of the exhibition of Johns Photoclub "Photoshop gang". The pensioners meet once a week and makes collages with photos. The exhibition shows the work of 2 years.

The New Train Hall

Today the new build hall for the trains at Ostkreuz  were opend. Ostkreuz is the most important station for the S-Bahn citytrains in Berlin. Each day about 100,000 passengers changes the trains. The complet building of the station needs 10 Years and costs untill 2016    411 Mio €. Only the hall costs 12 Mio €. It is 132 m long and 15 m high, made of glass an steel.
Today the half work is done, time to make al little party in the new hall. The important men cutted a cake in the form of the new hall.
The new hall is just opend and it has a name already "Butter dish" because it looks like that

This weekend I went to the garden again. I buided up the tent of the caravan for my summer residence. The neighbours cat was happy, to see someone working. I had nice snacks for her.
